The wildflower classroom

Our Wildflower classroom is designed for the increasingly curious 2 year olds. In this class, teachers do more intentional large group activities and circle times, as the children’s attention spans are increasing. The Wildflowers also introduce more structured centers and small groups throughout the day to help children begin to work together and problem solve. This class is also where we really focus on toilet learning skills.

Chinmayee S.
Lead Teacher

My name is Chinmayee. I have a bachelor’s degree in science. I also completed an Early Childhood Education diploma and am working toward an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree. I am married, and I have one daughter who is fifteen years old. I have been working at Play & Learn Childhood Center for almost 7 years. Currently, I am a lead teacher in the 2-year-old classroom. I have worked with old toddlers and 3-year-olds, but I have more experience with 2-year-olds.  I enjoy planning engaging activities and creating a classroom environment where children feel safe, happy, and excited to learn. I would get tremendous job satisfaction from seeing the impact my teaching has on children’s lives. My favorite part of my job is just creating connections with children, and I get to support them as they learn their own way of life!

Lexi H.
ASSIsTANT TEACHER

Hi! My name is Lexi. I am currently studying Early Childhood Education at DMACC and have a strong passion for supporting young children as they grow and learn. I love creating fun, engaging activities that help children develop socially, emotionally, and academically. Watching children build confidence and discover new skills is one of my favorite parts of working in early childhood education.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, listening to music, being creative, and relaxing with my pets. I love animals and enjoy the fun and comfort they bring to everyday life.

One of my favorite things about working with children is their curiosity and how every day brings something new and exciting. Kids remind us to laugh, explore, and enjoy the little moments.
